Add-In General

The ValidValue Add-In offers a lot of functionality.

This Help function follows the structure of the various groups in your Valid Value Tool menu. Note: this help is up-to-date with the last version of our add-in. If you're missing features, do download & install the latest version at the download page.

Ribbon Buttons

ValidValue Group

This menu item shows you your license information and checks for the latest version. It notifies you about any available updates to our product.
If you see a red exclamation mark next to this icon, you know it's time to upgrade. Simply click on the Professional Valuation Models button, and you will be redirected to the download page. Use your login name and password to download the latest version. Please note that after installing, you need to restart Excel/Word/PowerPoint for the new version to appear.


Table of Contents

Updates the Table of Contents on the active sheet.

Edit which slides will be displayed in the Table of Contents.

Add a new Table of Contents. As a default, the first 10 slides after the ToC will be added to the ToC.

The Table of Contents will pick up the Title of each slide. Normally that is the text box at the top of slides, but slide formatting can lead to titles on other places. This button helps finding, setting or replacing the title of the active slide.


Excel data

Refreshes all Valid Value objects on all slides. Those objects include linked texts, linked ranges and linked charts. Depending on the amount of linked objects, this may take a while.

Refreshes the selected Valid Value object. This object can be a linked text, a linked range or a linked chart.

Jump to the source in Excel, the excel file should be opened.

Will show the source information in a task pane. If the element can be linked to multiple excel files, it will show up here.

In the Source Info pane, there is an option to Reconnect the object (hyperlink or image) to the open Excel file. This will add the unique name back to the open Excel file and allows you to refresh the object (again).

In the Source Info pane, there is an option to Relink the object (hyperlink or image) to the open Excel file. This allows you to change the source of the object in the open Excel.

This button will open a pane where all objects (texts or images) that are linked by the Valid Value add-in will show.

Finalize

This menu button gives you the option to switch between Print Mode and Edit Mode. In print mode:


License Group

Logs you in or out of ValidValue.
Please use the provided login name and password. Without login in, the Valid Value Add-In remains inactive and cannot be used. That also means that you cannot open Valid Value models.
